परिभाषा का स्रोत

दक्ष प्रजापति की कहानी (शिव पार्वती का विवाह). The marriage of Shiva and Parvati. This is the story of Shiva and Parvati. Parvati is also known as Sati. It is believed that 'Sati' was the younger daughter of Daksha Prajapati, the chief of the deities. She wanted to marry only Shiva despite her father's disapproval. King Daksha organized a grand ceremony for the marriage of his daughter in which the princess had to choose her bridegroom out of the invited princes. The king had invited all the gods and princes from all four directions except Shiva. When Sati came to the meeting with a garland in her hands, she was very sad not being able to see Shiva there. She threw the garland in the air calling out Shiva and requested him to accept the garland. Hearing her call, Shiva accepted Sati’s garland. Defeated, the king got his daughter married to Shiva. Shiva took Parvati to his palace in Mount Kailash. After some time, King Daksha Prajapati performed the Ashwamedha Yagya (the yagya in which horses are sacrificed). Daksha invited many deities but did not invite Shiva. Seeing all the deities going towards the Yagya, Sati went to meet her father and begged him to invite her husband as well. Daksha did not pay heed to Parvati's words. Sati jumped into the same yagya fire and killed herself. After that Sati took birth again in the form of Parvati to the mountain king 'Himvan' and later married Shiva. That is why she is also known as Himavati, Parvati, Devi Uma meaning 'Goddess of the Himalayas'. It is said that Parvati started doing highly intense meditation since her childhood so that she could get Shiva as her husband again. In the end, Shiva was pleased with her commitment and accepted her wish. It was Prajapita Brahma who organized this marriage ceremony. All kinds of people were invited to the wedding. While the deities came, the demons also came and other people from all over the world gathered in this marriage ceremony, including the blind, the deaf, the mute, the lame and the crippled. Spiritual Significance: - Everyone is given a chance to participate in the union of the souls and the Supreme soul. Baba has mentioned many times in the murli that you are all Parvatis. After doing highly intense meditation, when you attain the karmateet stage and become complete, then Shiva, the Sajan (beloved) takes all the soul-form Parvatis with him to the supreme abode, the world of souls. All, number wise, according to their efforts, go back home with God as a wedding procession. Those who pass with honour on the basis of their effort, will remain close to Baba. While those who just pass stay behind and those who fail, they come last in the procession.
