Question

2Praśhna  : buddhi kō svachchha banānē kā purūṣhārth kyā hai  ?

4Question: What effort must you make to clean your intellect?

3Svachchha buddhi key|kī niśhānī kyā hōgī  ?

5What is the sign of a clean intellect?

4Uttar  : dēhī-abhimānī bannē sē hī buddhi svachchha bantī hai .

6Answer: Only by becoming soul conscious will your intellects become clean.

5Aisē dēhī-abhimānī bachchē apnē kō ātmā samajh ēk bāp kō pyār karē̃gē .

7Such soul-conscious children consider themselves to be souls and have love for the one Father alone.

6Bāp sē hī sunē̃gē .

8They only listen to the Father.

7Lēkin jō mūṛhmatī haĩ vah dēh kō pyār kartē haĩ , dēh kō hī śhrr̥iṅgārtē rahtē haĩ .

9However, those who have foolish intellects have love for bodies; they continue to decorate their bodies.

8Ōm śhānti .

10Om shanti.

9Ōm śhānti kisnē kahā aur kisnē sunā  ?

11Who said "Om shanti" and who heard it?

10Aur satsaṅgō̃ mē̃ tō jigyāsu suntē haĩ .

12In other satsangs, it is the followers who hear it.

11Mahātmā vā gurū ādi nē sunāyā , aisē kahē̃gē . 12Yahā̃ paramātmā nē sunāyā aur ātmā nē sunā .

13They would say that the mahatma or the guru said it but, here, you would say that the Supreme Soul said it and that the souls heard it.

13Naī bāt hai nā .

14This is something new.

14Dēhī-abhimānī hōnā paṛē .

15You have to become soul conscious.

15Kaī yahā̃ bhī dēh-abhimānī hō baiṭhtē haĩ .

16Some of you sit here in body consciousness.

16Tum bachchō̃ kō dēhī-abhimānī hō baiṭhnā chāhiē .

17You children have to sit here in soul consciousness.

17Maĩ ātmā is śharīr mē̃ virājmān hū̃ .

18I, this soul, am present in this body.

18Śhivbābā hamkō samjhātē haĩ , yah buddhi mē̃ achchhī tarah yād rahnā chāhiē .

19Shiv Baba is explaining to us. 20Let your intellects remember this very clearly.

19Mujh ātmā kā connection hai paramātmā kē sāth .

21I, this soul, have a connection with the Supreme Soul.

20Paramātmā ākar is śharīr dvārā sunātē haĩ , yah dalāl hō gayā .

22The Supreme Soul comes and speaks to us through this body. 23Therefore, this one has become the agent.

21Tumkō samjhānē vālā vah hai .

24That One is the one explaining to you.

22Inkō bhī varsā vah dētē haĩ . 23Tō buddhi us taraph jānī chāhiē .

25He gives the inheritance to this one, too; therefore let your intellects go to Him.

24Samjhō bāp K|kē 5-7 bachchē haĩ , unhō̃ kā buddhiyōg bāp taraph rahēgā nā kyōṅki bāp sē varsā milnā hai .

26For instance, if a father has five to seven children, their intellects’ yoga would remain with their father. 27That is because they receive an inheritance from him.

25Bhāī sē varsā nahī̃ miltā . 26Varsā hamēśhā bāp sē miltā hai .

28An inheritance isn't received from a brother; an inheritance is always received from the father.

27Ātmā kō ātmā sē varsā nahī̃ miltā .

29A soul does not receive an inheritance from a soul.

28Tum jāntē hō ātmā K|kē rūp mē̃ ham sab bhāī haĩ .

30You know that, as souls, we are all brothers.

29Ham sab ātmāō̃ kā connection ēk parampitā paramātmā kē sāth hai .

31The connection of all of us souls is with the one Supreme Father, the Supreme Soul.

30Vah kahtē haĩ māmēkam yād karō .

32He says: Constantly remember Me alone.

31Mujh ēk kē sāth hī prīt rakhō .

33Have love for Me alone.

32Rachnā kē sāth mat rakhō .

34Do not have love for the creation.

33Dēhī-abhimānī banō .

35Become soul conscious!

34Mērē sivāē aur kōī dēhdhārī kō yād kartē hō , tō iskō kahā jātā hai dēh-abhimān .

36When you remember any bodily being other than Me, it is called body consciousness.

35Bhal yah dēhdhārī tumhārē sāmnē hai parantu tum inkō nahī̃ dēkhō .

37Although this bodily being is in front of you, you must not see him.

36Buddhi mē̃ yād unkī rahnī chāhiē .

38Let only the remembrance of that One be in your intellects.

37Vah tō sirph kahnē mātra bhāī-bhāī kah dētē haĩ , abhī tum jāntē hō ham ātmā haĩ parampitā paramātmā key|kī santān haĩ .

39Those people say, simply for the sake of saying it, that all are brothers. 40You now know that we are souls, children of the Supreme Father, the Supreme Soul.

38Varsā paramātmā bāp sē miltā hai .

41You receive the inheritance from the Father, the Supreme Soul.

39Vah bāp kahtē haĩ tumhārā lav|love mujh ēk kē sāth hōnā chāhiē .

42That Father says: Your love has to be for Me alone.

40Maĩ hī khud ākar tum ātmāō̃ key|kī apnē sāth sagāī karātā hū̃ .

43I, Myself, come and engage you souls to Me.

41Dēhdhārī sē sagāī nahī̃ hai .

44This engagement is not to a bodily being.

42Aur jō bhī sambandh haĩ vah dēh K|kē , yahā̃ K|kē sambandh haĩ .

45All other relationships here are with bodies.

43Is samay tumkō dēhī-abhimānī bannā hai . 44Ham ātmā bāp sē suntē haĩ , buddhi bāp taraph jānī chāhiē .

46At this time, you have to become soul conscious: I, this soul, am listening to the Father. 47Therefore, let your intellects be drawn to that Father.

45Bāp inkē bājū mē̃ baiṭh hamkō knowledge dētē haĩ .

48The Father sits beside this one and gives us this knowledge.

46Usnē śharīr kā loan liyā huā hai .

49He has taken this body on loan.

47Ātmā is śharīr rūpī ghar mē̃ ākar part bajātī hai . 48Jaisēki vah apnē kō anḍar-hāus arēsṭa kar dētī hai - part bajānē kē liē .

50The soul enters the house, that is, this body, and plays a part; it is as though the soul puts himself under house arrest in order to play a part.

49Hai tō free . 50Parantu ismē̃ pravēśh kar apnē kō is ghar mē̃ band kar part bajātī hai .

51He is free, but he enters a body, locks himself in this house and plays his part.

51Ātmā hī ēk śharīr chhōṛ dūsrā lētī hai , part bajātī hai .

52It is the soul who leaves one body and takes another to play his part.

52Is samay jō jitnā dēhī-abhimānī rahē̃gē vah ūñch pad pāyēṅgē .

53At the present time, to the extent that you remain soul conscious, so you will accordingly claim a high status.

53Bābā K|kē śharīr mē̃ bhī tumhārā pyār nahī̃ hōnā chāhiē , riñchak mātra bhī nahī̃ .

54You should not have even the slightest love for Baba's body.

54Yah śharīr tō kōī kām kā nahī̃ hai .

55This body is of no use.

55Maĩ is śharīr mē̃ pravēśh kartā hū̃ , sirph tumkō samjhānē kē liē .

56I enter this body just to explain to you.

56Yah hai rāvaṇ kā rājya , parāyā dēśh .

57This foreign land is the kingdom of Ravan.

57Rāvaṇ kō jalātē haĩ parantu samajhtē nahī̃ haĩ . 58Chitra ādi jō bhī banātē haĩ , unkō jāntē nahī̃ haĩ .

58People burn an effigy of Ravan but, neither do they understand anything about that, nor do they know anything about the images they create.

59Bilkul hī mūṛhmatī haĩ .

59Their intellects are totally foolish.

60Rāvaṇ rājya mē̃ sab mūṛhmatī hō jātē haĩ .

60Everyone's intellect becomes totally foolish in the kingdom of Ravan.

61Dēh-abhimān hai nā .

61There is body consciousness.

62Tuchchh buddhi ban gayē haĩ .

62Intellects have become degraded.

63Bāp kahtē haĩ mūṛhmatī jō hōṅgē vah dēh kō yād kartē rahē̃gē , dēh sē pyār rakhē̃gē .

63The Father says: Those who have foolish intellects will continue to remember bodies and have love for bodily beings.

64Svachchha buddhi jō hōṅgē vah tō apnē kō ātmā samajh paramātmā kō yād kar paramātmā sē suntē rahē̃gē , ismē̃ hī mēhnat hai .

64Those with clean intellects, whilst considering themselves to be souls, will remember the Supreme Soul and continue to listen to Him. 65Only in this is there effort.

65Yah tō bāp kā rath hai .

66This body is the Father's chariot.

66Bahutō̃ kā insē pyār hō jātā hai .

67Many fall in love with this body.

67Jaisē husain kā ghōṛā , unkō kitnā sajātē haĩ . 68Ab mahimā tō husain kī hai nā .

68Similarly, the horse of Hussein is decorated so much, but the praise is of Hussein.

69Ghōṛē key|kī tō nahī̃ .

69It is not of the horse.

70Jarūr manuṣhya K|kē tan mē̃ husain key|kī ātmā I|āī|eye hōgī nā .

70The Hussein soul would definitely have entered a human body.

71Vah in bātō̃ kō nahī̃ samajhtē .

71They don't understand these things.

72Abhī iskō kahā jātā hai rājasva aśhvamēdh avināśhī rūdra gyān yagya .

72This is called the imperishable sacrificial fire of the knowledge of Rudra in which the horse is sacrificed in order to attain self-sovereignty.

73Aśhva nām sunkar unhōnnē phir ghōṛā samajh liyā hai , unkō svāhā kartē haĩ .

73Hearing the name "ashwa" (horse), they understood it literally to be a horse. 74They sacrifice a horse.

74Yah sab kahāniyā̃ haĩ bhakti mārg key|kī .

75All of those stories belong to the path of devotion.

75Abhī tumkō hasīn banānē vālā musāphir tō yah hai nā .

76The One who is now making you beautiful is this Traveller.

76Abhī tum jāntē hō ham pahlē gōrē thē phir sānvarē banē haĩ .

77You now know that we were beautiful previously and that we have now become ugly.

77Jō bhī ātmāyē̃ pahlē-pahlē ātī haĩ tō pahlē satōpradhān haĩ phir satō , rajō , tamō mē̃ ātī haĩ .

78Each soul who comes is at first satopradhan and then goes through the stages of sato, rajo and tamo.

78Bāp ākar sabkō hasīn ( sundar ) banā dētē haĩ .

79The Father comes and makes everyone beautiful.

79Jō bhī dharm sthāpan arth|earth ātē haĩ , vah sab hasīn ātmāyē̃ hōtī haĩ , bād mē̃ kām chitā par baiṭh kālī hō jātī haĩ .

80All the souls who come to establish a religion are beautiful at first. 81Afterwards, they become ugly by sitting on the pyre of lust.

80Pahlē sundar phir śhyām bantī haĩ .

82Souls are beautiful at first and then they become ugly.

81Yah number one mē̃ pahlē-pahlē ātē haĩ tō sabsē jāstī sundar bantē haĩ .

83This soul comes first as number one and so he is the most beautiful.

82In ( lakṣhmī-nārāyaṇ ) jaisā natural sundar tō kōī hō na sakē .

84No one else can be as naturally beautiful as Lakshmi and Narayan are.

83Yah gyān key|kī bāt hai .

85This matter is of this knowledge.

84Bhal kriściyan lōg bhāratvāsiyō̃ sē sundar ( gōrē ) haĩ kyōṅki us taraph K|kē rahnē vālē haĩ parantu satyug mē̃ tō natural beauty hai .

86Christians are fairer than the people of Bharat because they live in cooler climates. 87However, there is natural beauty in the golden age.

85Ātmā aur śharīr dōnō̃ sundar haĩ .

88Both souls and bodies are beautiful there.

86Is samay sab patit sānvarē haĩ phir bāp ākar sabkō sundar banātē haĩ .

89At this time, everyone is impure and ugly. 90The Father comes to make everyone beautiful.

87Pahlē satōpradhān pavitra hōtē haĩ phir utartē-utartē kām chitā par baiṭh kālē hō jātē haĩ .

91At first they are satopradhan and pure. 92Then, whilst coming down, they gradually become ugly by sitting on the pyre of lust.

88Ab bāp āyā hai sabhī ātmāō̃ kō pavitra banānē .

93The Father has now come to make all souls pure.

89Bāp kō yād karnē sē hī tum pāvan ban jāyēṅgē .

94It is only by remembering the Father that you will become pure.

90Tō yād karnā hai ēk kō .

95Therefore, you must only remember the One.

91Dēhdhārī sē prīt nahī̃ rakhnī hai .

96Do not love bodily beings.

92Buddhi mē̃ yah rahē ki ham ēk bāp K|kē haĩ , vahī sab kuchh hai .

97Keep it in your intellects that you belong to the one Father and that He is everything for you.

93In āṅkhō̃ sē dēkhnē vālē jō bhī haĩ , vah sab vināśh hō jāyēṅgē .

98Everything that you see with your eyes is going to be destroyed.

94Yah āṅkhē bhī khatm hō jāyēṅgī .

99Even your eyes will be finished.

95Parampitā paramātmā kō tō trinētrī kahā jātā hai .

100The Supreme Father, the Supreme Soul, is called Trinetri (One with three eyes).

96Unkō gyān kā tīsrā nētra hai .

101He has the third eye of this knowledge.

97Trinētrī , trikāldarśhī , trilōkīnāth yah title unkō milē haĩ .

102That One has received all these titles: Trinetri, Trikaldarshi and Trilokinath.

98Abhī tumkō tīnō̃ lōkō̃ kā gyān hai phir yah gum hō jātā hai , jismē̃ gyān hai vahī ākar dētē haĩ .

103You now have the knowledge of all three worlds. 104This will then disappear. 105The One who has this knowledge comes and gives it to you.

99Tumkō bāp 84 janmō̃ kā gyān sunātē haĩ .

106The Father sits here and gives you the knowledge of your 84 births.

100Bāp kahtē haĩ apnē kō ātmā samjhō .

107The Father says: Consider yourselves to be souls.

101Maĩ is śharīr mē̃ pravēśh kar āyā hū̃ tumkō pāvan banānē .

108I have come and entered this body in order to make you pure.

102Mujhē yād karnē sē hī pāvan banē̃gē aur kōī kō yād kiyā tō satōpradhān ban nahī̃ sakē̃gē .

109Only by remembering Me will you become pure. 110If you remember anyone else, you will not be able to become satopradhan.

103Pāp kaṭē̃gē nahī̃ tō kahē̃gē vināśh kālē viparīt buddhi vinaśhantī .

111It is said of those whose sins are not absolved, "Those whose intellects have no love at the time of destruction are led to destruction."

104Manuṣhya tō bahut andhaśhraddhā mē̃ haĩ .

112People have a lot of blind faith.

105Dēhdhāriyō̃ mē̃ hī mōh rakhtē haĩ .

113They have attachment to bodily beings.

106Ab tumkō dēhī-abhimānī bannā hai .

114You now have to become soul conscious.

107Ēk mē̃ hī mōh rakhnā hai .

115Have attachment to the One alone.

108Dūsrē kōī mē̃ mōh hai tō gōyā bāp sē viparīt buddhi haĩ .

116If you have attachment to anyone else, it means that you have an intellect that has no love for the Father.

109Bāp kitnā samjhātē haĩ mujh bāp kō hī yād karō , ismē̃ hī mēhnat hai .

117The Father says so many times: Only remember Me, your Father! 118Only in this is there effort.

110Tum kahtē bhī hō ham patitō̃ kō ākar pāvan banāō .

119You even called out: Come and make us impure ones pure!

111Bāp hī pāvan banātē haĩ .

120Only the Father makes you pure.

112Tum bachchō̃ kō 84 janmō̃ key|kī history-geography bāp hī samjhātē haĩ .

121Only the Father explains the history and geography of 84 births to you children.

113Vah tō sahaj hai nā .

122It is easy.

114Bākī yād kī hī difficult tē difficult subject hai .

123The most difficult subject is remembrance.

115Bāp kē sāth yōg rakhnē mē̃ kōī bhī hōśhiyār nahī̃ haĩ .

124No one is clever in having yoga with the Father.

116Jō bachchē yād mē̃ hōśhiyār nahī̃ vah jaisē paṇḍit haĩ .

125The children who are not clever in remembrance are like pundits.

117Gyān mē̃ bhal kitnē bhī hōśhiyār hō̃ , yād mē̃ nahī̃ rahtē tō vah paṇḍit haĩ .

126No matter how clever someone is in knowledge, if he does not stay in remembrance, he is a pundit.

118Bābā paṇḍit key|kī ēk kahānī sunātē haĩ nā .

127Baba tells you the story of the pundit.

119Jiskō sunāyā vah tō paramātmā kō yād kar pār hō gayā .

128Those who heard what the pundit said were able to go across in remembrance of the Supreme Soul.

120Paṇḍit kā dr̥iṣhṭānt bhī tumhārē liē hai . 121Bāp kō tum yād karō tō pār hō jāyēṅgē .

129Even the example of the pundit applies to you: Remember the Father and you will be able to go across.

122Sirph murlī mē̃ tīkhē hōṅgē tō pār jā nahī̃ sakē̃gē .

130Just by being good with the murli will not enable you to go across.

123Yād K|kē sivāē vikarma vināśh nahī̃ hōṅgē .

131Without having remembrance, your sins cannot be absolved.

124Yah sab dr̥iṣhṭānt banāyē haĩ .

132All of these examples have been created.

125Bāp baiṭh yathārth rīti samjhātē haĩ .

133The Father sits here and explains their accurate meanings to you.

126Unkō niśhchay baiṭh gayā . 127Ēk hī bāt pakaṛ lī ki paramātmā kō yād karnē sē pār hō jāyēṅgē .

134They had faith; they simply held on to the fact that they would be able to go across by remembering the Supreme Soul.

128Sirph gyān hōgā , yōg nahī̃ tō ūñch pad pā nahī̃ sakē̃gē .

135If you only have this knowledge but no yoga, you cannot claim a high status.

129Aisē bahut haĩ , yād mē̃ nahī̃ rahtē , mūl bāt hai hī yād kī .

136There are many who do not stay in remembrance. 137The main thing is remembrance.

130Bahut achchhī-achchhī service karnē vālē haĩ , parantu buddhiyōg ṭhīk nahī̃ hōgā tō phans paṛē̃gē .

138There are many who do very good service, but if their intellects’ yoga is not accurate, they become trapped.

131Yōg vālā kabhī dēh-abhimān mē̃ nahī̃ phansēgā , aśhuddh saṅkalp nahī̃ āyēṅgē .

139Someone who has yoga would not become trapped in body consciousness and would not have impure thoughts.

132Yād mē̃ kachchā hōgā tō tūphān āyēṅgē .

140Storms will come to those who are weak in having remembrance.

133Yōg sē karmēndriyā̃ ēkdam vaśh hō jātī haĩ .

141The physical senses are completely controlled by yoga.

134Bāp right aur wrong kō samajhnē key|kī buddhi bhī dētē haĩ .

142The Father also gives each of you an intellect to understand what is right and what is wrong.

135Aurō̃ key|kī dēh taraph buddhi jānē sē viparīt buddhi vinaśhantī hō jāyēṅgē .

143When your intellect goes to the bodies of others, it has no love for the Father and leads you to destruction.

136Gyān alag hai , yōg alag hai .

144Knowledge is distinct from yoga.

137Yōg sē health , gyān sē wealth miltī hai .

145You receive health through yoga and wealth through this knowledge.

138Yōg sē śharīr key|kī āyu baṛhtī hai , ātmā tō baṛī-chhōṭī hōtī nahī̃ .

146By having yoga, the lifespans of your bodies increase. 147Souls do not become smaller or larger.

139Ātmā kahēgī mērē śharīr key|kī āyu baṛī hōtī hai .

148The soul would say that the lifespan of his body increases.

140Abhī āyu chhōṭī hai phir ādhākalp kē liē śharīr key|kī āyu baṛī hō jāyēgī .

149The lifespan is now short. 150Then, for half a cycle, the lifespans of bodies become long.

141Ham tamōpradhān sē satōpradhān ban jāyēṅgē .

151We will become satopradhan from tamopradhan.

142Ātmā pavitra bantī hai , sārā madār ātmā kō pavitra banānē par hai .

152Souls become pure; everything depends on making our souls pure.

143Pavitra nahī̃ banē̃gē tō pad bhī nahī̃ pāyēṅgē .

153If you don’t become pure, you cannot claim a status.

144Māyā chart rakhnē mē̃ bachchō̃ kō sust banā dētī hai .

154Maya makes children lazy in keeping a chart.

145Bachchō̃ kō yād kī yātrā kā chart bahut śhauk sē rakhnā chāhiē .

155You children should be very interested in keeping a chart of your pilgrimage of remembrance.

146Dēkhnā chāhiē ki ham bāp kō yād kartē haĩ yā aur kōī mitra-sambandhī ādi taraph buddhi jātī hai .

156Check: Do I remember the Father or is my intellect drawn to friends and relatives?

147Sārē din mē̃ yād kiskī rahī athavā prīt kiskē sāth rahī , kitnā time west|waste kiyā  ?

157In whose remembrance did I stay throughout the whole day? 158For whom did I have love? 159How much time did I waste?

148Apnā chart rakhnā chāhiē .

160Each of you should keep a chart of yourself.

149Parantu kōī mē̃ tākat nahī̃ hai jō chart regular rakh sakē .

161However, no one has the strength to keep a chart regularly.

150Kōī virlā rakh saktē haĩ .

162Hardly any of you can keep it.

151Māyā pūrā chart rakhnē nahī̃ dētī hai .

163Maya does not allow you to maintain your chart fully.

152Ēkdam sust banā dētī hai . 153Custī nikal jātī hai .

164She makes you completely lazy and destroys your alertness.

154Bāp kahtē haĩ māmēkam yād karō .

165The Father says: Constantly remember Me alone.

155Maĩ tō sabhī āśhikō̃ kā māśhūk hū̃ .

166I am the Beloved of all you lovers.

156Tō māśhūk kō yād karnā chāhiē nā .

167Therefore, all of you lovers must remember Me.

157Māśhūk bāp kahtē haĩ tumnē ādhākalp yād kiyā hai , ab maĩ kahtā hū̃ mujhē yād karō tō vikarma vināśh hō jāē̃ .

168The Father, the Beloved, says: You have been remembering Me for half a cycle. 169I am now telling you to remember Me so that your sins can be absolved.

158Aisā bāp jō sukh dēnē vālā hai , kitnā yād karnā chāhiē .

170You should very much remember such a Father who gives you so much happiness.

159Aur tō sab duḥkh dēnē vālē haĩ .

171Everyone else causes sorrow.

160Vah kōī kām ānē vālē nahī̃ haĩ .

172They will not be of any use.

162Ant kā samay ēk had kā hōtā hai , ēk bēhad kā hōtā hai .

174There are the limited and the unlimited final moments.

163Bāp samjhātē haĩ achchhī rīti yād kartē rahē̃gē tō akālē mr̥iityu nahī̃ hōgī .

175The Father says: By continuing to remember Me very well, you will not have untimely death.

171Jaisē dvāpar aur kaliyug hai tō kaliyug kō raurav nark , tamōpradhān kahā jātā hai .

182Similarly, there are the copper and iron ages. 183The iron age is called extreme tamopradhan hell.

172Dvāpar kō itnā nahī̃ kahē̃gē phir tamōpradhān sē satōpradhān bannē kē liē yād chāhiē .

184The copper age is not so tamopradhan. 185In order to become satopradhan from tamopradhan, you have to have remembrance.

186When you have love for a particular person and think that you cannot benefit without that one's support, you can understand for yourself what would happen if you left your body in such a state.

175Vināśh kālē viparīt buddhi vinaśhantī .

187Everything is destroyed for those whose intellects have no love at the time of destruction.

176Dhūlchhāī pad pā lē̃gē .

188They claim a status worth dust.

210Only the Supreme Soul comes and establishes heaven.

197Śhāstrō̃ mē̃ tō dikhāyā hai pāṇḍav gal marē phir kyā huā  ?

218How could jewellery look right on the impure body of an impure soul?

204Vahā̃ tō ham in jēvarō̃ ādi sē sajē rahē̃gē .

219There, you will remain decorated with jewellery etc.

235Lēkin dōnō̃ hī sēvāō̃ mē̃ samay kā , śhaktiyō̃ kā samān attention chāhiē .

252However, there has to be equal time given and attention paid to both types of service.

253If the needle of shrimat is balanced well, both sides will then be equal.
