Murli

8Ōm śhānti .

9Om shanti.

9Bachchō̃ nē kyā kahā aur kiskō pukārā  ? 10Hē gyān K|kē sāgar athavā hē gyān sūrya bābā . . . . bhagvān kō bābā kahā jātā hai nā .

10What did the children say and to whom did they call out: O Ocean of Knowledge! 11O Sun of Knowledge! 12Baba? 13God is called Baba.

11Bhagvān bāp hai tō tum sab bachchē hō .

14God is the Father and so all of you are children.

12Bachchē kahtē haĩ ham andhērē mē̃ ākar paṛē haĩ .

15The children say: We have now fallen into darkness.

13Āp hamē̃ sōjharē mē̃ lē jāō .

16Take us into the light.

14Bābā kahnē sē siddha hōtā hai ki bāp kō pukārtē haĩ .

17By your saying Baba it proves that you are calling out to the Father.

15Bābā akṣhar kahnē sē lav|love ā jātā hai kyōṅki bāp sē varsā liyā jātā hai .

18When you say: Baba, you experience love because the inheritance is received from the Father.

16Sirph īśhvar vā prabhu kahnē sē bāp K|kē varsē key|kī rasnā nahī̃ ātī .

19By simply saying Ishwar or Prabhu, there isn’t that sweetness of the Father’s inheritance.

17Bābā kahnē sē varsā yād ā jātā hai .

20By saying Baba, you remember your inheritance.

18Tum pukārtē hō bābā ham andhērē mē̃ ākar paṛē haĩ , āp abhī phir gyān sē hamārā dīpak jagāō kyōṅki ātmāō̃ kā dīpak bujhā huā hai .

21You call out: Baba, we have fallen into darkness! 22Come and ignite our lamps with knowledge! 23This is because the lights of souls have gone out.

19Manuṣhya martē haĩ tō 12 din dīvā jagātē haĩ .

24When a person dies, people keep a lamp alight for 12 days.

20Ēk ghr̥it ḍālnē kē liē baiṭhā rahtā hai ki kahā̃ dīvā bujh na jāyē .

25Someone stays up all night to make sure that the lamp doesn’t go out.

21Bāp samjhātē haĩ - tum bhāratvāsī sōjharē mē̃ arthāt din mē̃ thē . 22Ab rāt mē̃ hō .

26The Father explains: You people of Bharat were in the light, that is, in the day, but you are now in the night.

2312 ghaṇṭā din , 12 ghaṇṭā rāt .

27It is day for 12 hours and night for 12 hours.

24Vah hai had key|kī bāt .

28That is a limited aspect.

25Yah tō bēhad kā din aur bēhad key|kī rāt hai , jiskō kahā jātā hai brahmā kā din - satyug trētā , brahmā kī rāt - dvāpar kaliyug .

29This day and night are unlimited. 30It is called the day of Brahma, the golden and silver ages, and the night of Brahma, the copper and iron ages.

26Rāt mē̃ andhiyārā hōtā hai . 27Manuṣhya ṭhōkarē̃ khātē rahtē haĩ .

31There is darkness at night in which people continue to stumble around.

28Bhagvān kō ḍhūṇḍhnē kē liē chārō̃ taraph phērē lagātē haĩ , parantu paramātmā kō pā nahī̃ saktē .

32They wander around in all directions searching for God, but they cannot attain God.

29Paramātmā kō pānē kē liē hī bhakti kartē haĩ .

33They perform devotion in order to attain God.

30Dvāpar sē bhakti śhurū hōtī hai arthāt rāvaṇ rājya śhurū hōtā hai .

34Devotion begins in the copper age, that is, when the kingdom of Ravan begins.

31Daśhaharē key|kī bhī ēk story|storey banāī hai .

35A story has also been made up about Dashera (the burning of Ravan).

32Story|storey hamēśhā manōmay banātē haĩ , jaisē bioscope , nāṭak ādi banātē haĩ .

36They also make up stories with the imagination of their minds: for instance, they create films and plays etc.

33Śhrīmad bhagavat gītā hī hai sachchī .

37The Shrimad Bhagawad Gita is the truth.

34Paramātmā nē bachchō̃ kō rājyōg sikhāyā , rājāī dī|the .

38The Supreme Soul came and taught you children Raja Yoga and gave you the kingdom.

35Phir bhaktimārg mē̃ baiṭhkar story|storey banātē haĩ .

39Then, they made up stories on the path of devotion.

36Vyās nē gītā banāī arthāt story|storey banāī .

40Vyas wrote the Gita, that is, he made up a story.

37Sachchī bāt tō bāp dvārā tum abhī sun rahē hō .

41You children are now listening to the true things from the Father.

38Hamēśhā bābā-bābā kahnā chāhiē .

42You should always continue to say: Baba, Baba.

39Paramātmā hamārā bābā hai , naī duniyā kā rachayitā hai . 40Tō jarūr unsē hamkō svarg kā varsā milnā chāhiē .

43The Supreme Soul is our Baba. 44He is the Creator of the new world and we should therefore definitely receive the inheritance of heaven from Him.

41Abhī tō 84 janm bhōg ham nark mē̃ ākar paṛē haĩ .

45While experiencing 84 births, we came into hell.

42Bāp samjhātē haĩ bachchō̃ , tum bhāratvāsī sūryavanśhī , chandravanśhī thē , viśhva K|kē mālik thē , dūsrā kōī dharm nahī̃ thā , uskō svarg athavā kr̥iṣhṇapurī kahā jātā hai .

46The Father explains: Children, you people of Bharat belonged to the sun and moon dynasties. 47When you were the masters of the world, there were no other religions. 48That was called heaven, the land of Krishna.

43Yahā̃ hai kanspurī .

49Here, it is a land of devils.

44Bāpdādā yād dilātē haĩ , lakṣhmī-nārāyaṇ kā rājya thā .

50BapDada reminds you that it used to be the kingdom of Lakshmi and Narayan.

45Bāp hī gyān kā sāgar , śhānti kā sāgar patit-pāvan hai , na ki pānī key|kī gaṅgā .

51Only the Father, not the Ganges, is the Ocean of Knowledge, the Ocean of Peace and the Purifier.

46Sab brides kā ēk hī bhagvān bridegroom hai - yah manuṣhya nahī̃ jāntē , isliē pūchhā jātā hai - ātmā kā bāp kaun hai  ? 47Tō mūnjh paṛtē haĩ .

52All the brides have one God who is the Bridegroom. 53People don’t know this. 54That is why they become confused when they are asked who the Father of all souls is.

48Kahtē haĩ ham nahī̃ jāntē .

55They reply: We don’t know.

49Arē ātmā , tum apnē bāp kō nahī̃ jāntī hō  ?

56Oh souls! 57But how can you not know your Father?

50Kahtē haĩ god father , phir pūchhā jātā hai - unkā nām rūp kyā hai  ? 51God kō pahchāntē hō  ? 52Tō kah dētē haĩ sarvavyāpī hai .

58They speak of God, the Father, but when you ask them what His name and form are or whether they recognise Him, they say that He is omnipresent.

53Arē bachchō̃ kā bāp kab sarvavyāpī hōtā hai kyā  ?

59Can a father of children ever be omnipresent?

54Rāvaṇ key|kī āsurī mat par kitnē bēsamajh ban jātē haĩ .

60People have become so senseless by following the devilish dictates of Ravan.

55Dēh-abhimān hai number one .

61Body consciousness is the number one vice.

56Apnē kō ātmā niśhchay nahī̃ kartē .

62They don’t have the faith that they are souls.

57Kah dētē maĩ phalānā hū̃ .

63They say: I am so-and-so.

58Yah tō hō gaī śharīr key|kī bāt .

64That refers to the body.

59Asal mē̃ svayã kaun haĩ - yah nahī̃ jāntē .

65In fact, they don’t know who they really are.

60Maĩ judge hū̃ , maĩ yah hū̃ . . . . ' maĩ ' ' maĩ ' kahtē rahtē haĩ , parantu yah wrong hai .

66I am a judge, I am this. 67They continue to say “I”, but that is wrong.

61Maĩ aur mērā yah dō chīzē̃ haĩ .

68“I” and “mine” are two distinct things.

62Ātmā avināśhī hai , śharīr vināśhī hai .

69Souls are imperishable and bodies are perishable.

63Nām śharīr kā paṛtā hai .

70A name is given to each body.

64Ātmā kā kōī nām nahī̃ rakhā jātā hai .

71Souls are not given names.

65Bāp kahtē haĩ - mērā nām śhiv hī hai .

72The Father says: My name is Shiva.

66Śhiv jayantī bhī manātē haĩ .

73People even celebrate the birthday of Shiva.

67Ab nirākār key|kī jayantī kaisē hō saktī  ?

74How can the incorporeal One have a birthday?

68Vah kismē̃ ātē haĩ , yah kiskō patā nahī̃ .

75No one knows whom He enters.

69Sab ātmāō̃ kā nām ātmā hī hai .

76The name of all souls is soul.

70Paramātmā kā nām hai śhiv . 71Bākī sab haĩ sāligrām .

77The name of the Supreme Father is Shiva and all the rest are saligrams.

72Ātmāyē̃ bachchē haĩ . 73Ēk śhiv sab ātmāō̃ kā bāp hai .

78All souls are children and Shiva is the Father of all souls.

74Vah hai bēhad kā bāp .

79He is the unlimited Father.

75Unkō sab pukārtē haĩ ki ākar hamē̃ pāvan banāō .

80Everyone calls out to Him: Come and purify us!

76Ham duḥkhī haĩ .

81We are experiencing sorrow.

77Ātmā pukārtī hai , duḥkh mē̃ sab bachchē yād kartē haĩ aur phir yahī bachchē sukh mē̃ rahtē haĩ tō kōī bhī yād nahī̃ kartē .

82Souls call out. 83All the children remember Him when they are in sorrow, whereas when those same children are in happiness, none of them remembers Him.

78Duḥkhī banāyā hai rāvaṇ nē .

84It is Ravan that has made you unhappy.

79Bāp samjhātē haĩ - yah rāvaṇ tumhārā purānā duśhman hai .

85The Father explains: That Ravan is your old enemy.

80Yah bhī drama kā khēl banā huā hai .

86This is the game that is created in the drama.

81Tō abhī sab andhiyārē mē̃ haĩ isliē pukārtē haĩ hē gyān sūrya āō , hamkō sōjharē mē̃ lē jāō .

87Therefore, all are now in darkness. 88This is why they call out: O Sun of Knowledge, come and take us into the light!

82Bhārat sukhdhām thā tō kōī pukārtē nahī̃ thē .

89When Bharat was a land of happiness, no one used to call out.

83Kōī aprāpta vastu nahī̃ thī .

90There was nothing lacking there.

84Yahā̃ tō chillātē rahtē haĩ , hē śhānti dēvā .

91Here, they continue to cry out: O Bestower of Peace!

85Bāp ākar samjhātē haĩ - śhānti tō tumhārā svadharm hai . 86Galē kā hār hai .

92The Father comes and explains that peace is your original religion and the garland around your neck.

87Ātmā śhāntidhām key|kī rahvāsī hai .

93Souls are residents of the land of peace.

88Śhāntidhām sē phir sukhdhām mē̃ jātī hai . 89Vahā̃ tō sukh hī sukh hai .

94You go from the land of peace to that land of happiness where there is nothing but happiness.

90Tumkō chillānā nahī̃ hōtā hai .

95You don’t have to cry out in distress.

91Duḥkh mē̃ hī chillātē haĩ - rahm karō , duḥkh hartā sukh kartā bābā āō .

96It is only when people are in sorrow that they cry out: Have mercy! 97Baba, Remover of Sorrow and Bestower of Happiness, come!

92Śhivbābā , mīṭhā bābā phir sē āō .

98Shiv Baba, sweet Baba, come once again!

93Ātē jarūr haĩ tab tō śhivjayantī manātē haĩ .

99He definitely comes. 100That is why people celebrate the birthday of Shiva.

94Śhrīkr̥iṣhṇa hai svarg kā prince .

101Shri Krishna is a prince of heaven.

95Unkī bhī jayantī manātē haĩ . 96Parantu śhrīkr̥iṣhṇa kab āyā , yah kiskō patā nahī̃ .

102His birthday is also celebrated, but no one knows when Shri Krishna came.

97Rādhē-kr̥iṣhṇa hī svayamvar kē bād lakṣhmī-nārāyaṇ bantē haĩ .

103Radhe and Krishna become Lakshmi and Narayan when they marry.

98Yah kōī bhī nahī̃ jāntē .

104No one knows this.

99Manuṣhya hī pukārtē rahtē haĩ - ō god father . . . achchhā unkā nām-rūp kyā hai tō kah dētē haĩ nām-rūp sē nyārā hai .

105Human beings continue to call out: O God the Father! 106Achcha, ask them what His name and form are and they say that He is beyond name and form.

100Arē , tum kahtē hō god father phir nām-rūp sē nyārā kah dētē hō .

107Oh! 108You say that He is God, the Father, and then you say that He is beyond name and form!

101Ākāśh polar hai , unkā bhī nām hai ākāśh .

109The sky is space but it has the name ‘sky’.

102Tum kahtē hō ham bāp K|kē nām-rūp ādi kō nahī̃ jāntē , achchhā apnē kō jāntē hō  ?

110You say that you don’t know the name or form of the Father. 111Achcha, do you know yourself?

103Hā̃ ham ātmā haĩ .

112Yes, I am a soul.

104Achchhā ātmā kā nām-rūp batāō .

113Achcha, what is the name and form of a soul?

105Phir kah dētē ātmā sō paramātmā hai .

114They say that each soul is the Supreme Soul.

106Ātmā nām-rūp sē nyārī tō hō nahī̃ saktī .

115A soul cannot be beyond name and form.

107Ātmā ēk bindī star misal hai . 108Bhrakuṭī kē bīch mē̃ rahtī hai .

116A soul is a point, like a star that resides in the centre of a forehead.

109Jis chhōṭī see|sī|C ātmā mē̃ 84 janmō̃ kā part nūndhā huā hai .

117Such a tiny soul has a part of 84 births recorded in him.

110Yah bahut samajhnē key|kī bāt hai isliē 7 rōz bhaṭṭhī gāī huī hai .

118These matters have to be understood. 119This is why the furnace of seven days is remembered.

111Dvāpar sē rāvaṇrājya śhurū huā hai tab sē vikārō̃ key|kī pravēśhtā huī hai .

120Ravan’s kingdom began in the copper age and it is ever since then that the vices have existed.

112Sīṛhī utartē āyē haĩ .

121You have continued to come down the ladder.

113Ab sabkō grahaṇ lagā huā hai , kālē hō gayē haĩ isliē pukārtē haĩ hē gyān sūrya āō .

122Everyone is now eclipsed and has become ugly. 123That is why they call out: O Sun of Knowledge, come!

114Ākar hamkō sōjharē mē̃ lē jāō .

124Come and take us into the light.

115Gyān añjan satgurū diyā , agyān andhēr vināśh . . . buddhi mē̃ bāp ātā hai .

125It is said: When the Satguru gives the ointment of knowledge, ignorance (darkness) is dispelled. 126The intellect remembers the Father.

116Aisē nahī̃ gyān añjan gurū diyā . . gurū tō ḍhēr haĩ , unmē̃ gyān kahā̃ hai . 117Unkā thōṛēhī gāyan hai .

127It isn’t said: When the guru gives the ointment. 128There are many gurus, but none of them has this knowledge; they are not remembered.

118Gyān-sāgar , patit-pāvan , sarv kā sadgati dātā ēk hī bāp hai .

129Only the one Father is the Ocean of Knowledge, the Purifier and the Bestower of Salvation for All.

119Phir dūsrā kōī gyān dē kaisē saktā .

130Therefore, how could anyone else give this knowledge?

120Sādhū lōg kah dētē haĩ bhagvān sē milnē K|kē anēk rāstē haĩ . 121Śhāstra paṛhnā , yagya , tap ādi karnā - yah sab bhagvān sē milnē K|kē rāstē haĩ lēkin patit phir pāvan duniyā mē̃ jā kaisē saktē haĩ .

131Sages say that there are many paths to meet God, that to study the scriptures, to hold sacrificial fires, to do tapasya, etc. are all paths to meet God. 132However, how could impure ones go to that pure world?

122Bāp kahtē haĩ - maĩ khud ātā hū̃ .

133The Father says: I Myself have to come.

123Bhagvān tō ēk hī hai brahmā-viṣhṇu-śhaṅkar bhī dēvtā haĩ , unhē̃ bhagvān nahī̃ kahē̃gē .

134There is only the one God. 135Brahma, Vishnu and Shankar are deities; they cannot be called God.

124Unkā bhī bāp śhiv hai .

136Their Father is Shiva.

125Prajāpitā brahmā tō yahā̃ hī hōgā nā . 126Prajā yahā̃ hai .

137Since people are here, the Father of People has to exist here, does he not?

127Nām bhī likhā huā hai prajāpitā brahmākumārī insṭīṭyūśan .

138The name that is written is: Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Institution.

128Tō bachchē ṭhaharē .

139Therefore, you are the children.

129Ḍhēr be|B . K|kē . haĩ .

140There are many Brahma Kumars and Kumaris.

130Varsā śhiv sē miltā hai , na ki brahmā sē .

141The inheritance is received from Shiva, not Brahma.

131Varsā dādē sē miltā hai .

142The inheritance is received from Dada (Grandfather).

132Brahmā dvārā baiṭhkar svarg mē̃ jānē lāyak banātē haĩ .

143He sits here and makes you worthy of going to heaven through Brahma.

133Brahmā dvārā bachchō̃ kō adopt kartē haĩ .

144He adopts you children through Brahma.

134Bachchē bhī kahtē haĩ bābā ham āpkē hī haĩ , āpsē varsā lētē haĩ .

145Children say: Baba, I belong to You. 146I claim my inheritance from You.

135Brahmā dvārā sthāpanā hōtī hai viṣhṇupurī key|kī .

147The land of Vishnu is established through Brahma.

136Śhivbābā rājyōg sikhātē haĩ .

148Shiv Baba teaches you Raja Yoga.

137Śhrīmat athavā śhrēṣhṭh tē śhrēṣhṭh bhagvān key|kī gītā hai .

149The Gita has the elevated directions from God.

138Bhagvān ēk hī nirākār hai .

150There is only the one God, the incorporeal One.

139Bāp samjhātē haĩ - tum bachchō̃ nē 84 janma liē haĩ .

151The Father explains: You children have taken 84 births.

140Ātmā paramātmā alag rahē bahukāl . . bahukāl sē alag tō bhāratvāsī hī thē .

152Souls have remained separated from the Supreme Soul for a long time. 153It is the people of Bharat who have been separated for a long time.

141Dūsrā kōī dharm nahī̃ thā .

154It wasn’t those of other religions.

142Vahī pahlē-pahlē bichhuḍē haĩ .

155You are the ones who became separated first.

143Bāp sē bichhuṛkar yahā̃ part bajānē āyē haĩ .

156You separated from the Father and came here to play your parts.

144Bābā kahtē haĩ - hē ātmāyē̃ ab mujh bāp kō yād karō .

157Baba says: O souls, now remember Me, your Father!

145Yah hai yād kī yātrā athavā yōg agni .

158This is the pilgrimage of remembrance, the fire of yoga.

146Tumhārē sir par jō pāpō̃ kā bōjh hai , vah is yōg agni sē bhasma hōgā .

159The burden of sins on your heads will be burnt away in this fire of yoga.

147Hē mīṭhē bachchē , tum golden age sē iron age mē̃ ā gayē hō .

160O sweet children, from being in the golden age you have come into this iron age.

148Ab mujhē yād karō .

161Now, remember Me!

149Yah buddhi kā kām hai nā .

162This is something for your intellects to do.

150Dēh sahit dēh K|kē sab sambandh chhōṛ māmēkam yād karō .

163Forget your bodies and all your bodily relations and constantly remember Me alone.

151Tum ātmā hō nā . 152Yah tumhārā śharīr hai .

164You are souls and those are your bodies.

153Maĩ , maĩ ātmā kartī hai .

165It is the soul that says: I, I.

154Tumkō rāvaṇ nē patit banāyā hai .

166Ravan has made you impure.

155Yah khēl banā huā hai .

167This play is predestined.

156Pāvan bhārat aur patit bhārat .

168There is the pure Bharat and the impure Bharat.

157Jab patit bantē haĩ tō bāp kō pukārtē haĩ . 158Rāmrājya chāhiē .

169When you become impure, you call out to the Father that you want the kingdom of Rama.

159Kahtē bhī haĩ , parantu arth|earth kō nahī̃ samajhtē .

170They say this but they don’t understand the meaning of it.

160Gyān dēnē vālā gyān kā sāgar tō ēk hī bāp hai .
