चट होना chaṭ hōnā

2चट caṭ [? cf. H. cāṭnā; × H. 1caṭ, 3.], adj. consumed. — ~ करना, v.t. to eat up; to devour, to consume; to dissipate; to expropriate, to embezzle. ~ होना, v.i. to be eaten up; to be consumed; to be dissipated; to be embezzled, &c.

H چٿ चट ćaṭ (contrac. of ćāṭ; see ćāṭnā and ćaṭānā), s.f. Eating up, devouring, &c. (used chiefly in comp.); — adv. Wholly, altogether, clean: — ćaṭ-bhasam, s.m. Eating up the whole, licking the platter clean: — ćaṭ karnā or kar-jānā (-ko), To eat with zest; to eat up entirely, to lick the platter clean, to devour, consume; to dissipate; to make away with, to embezzle: — ćaṭ honā or ho-jānā, v.n. To be eaten up entirely, be swallowed up, be devoured, be consumed; to be dissipated, &c.
