जकड़ना jakaṛnā

जकड़ना jakaṛnā [cf. yata-, MIA *yakka-], v.t. & v.i. 1. v.t. to pull tight, to tie tightly; to bind. 2. to constrain. 3. v.i. to be tightly bound, or constrained. 4. to stiffen (joints). 5. to be numb (with cold). — जकड़कर बाँधना, to tie tightly.

H جکڙنا जकड़ना jakaṛnā [jakaṛ˚ prob. = S. यतं+कृ], v.t. To draw tight (as a knot, &c.), to tighten, to tie tight; to bind, to fasten, to pinion; to put in the stocks: — jakaṛ-jānā, v.n. To become stiff or rigid; to be firmly or tightly bound; to be closely joined or placed together, to be closely packed.
