1Ātmā , paramātmā K|kē karttavyō̃ kō yathārth jānnā hī achchhē karmō̃ kā ādhār hai
1The basis of performing good actions is to know accurately the acts of the soul and the Supreme Soul.
Song
2Gīt : duḥkhiyō̃ par kuchh rahm karō … .
2Song: Have mercy on those who are experiencing sorrow...
Murli
3Ōm śhānti .
3Om shanti.
4Paramātmā ēk hai aur vah nirākār hai .
4God is only one and He is incorporeal.
5Kaī manuṣhya aisē māntē huē bhī is bāt mē̃ mūñjhē huē haĩ . 6Kyōṅki paramātmā kē bārē mē̃ hī anēkānēk vichār haĩ .
5Many people believe this and yet are confused about it because they have many different ideas about God.
7Nirākār kō mānnē vālō̃ K|kē bhī anēk vichār haĩ .
6Even those who believe in the incorporeal have many different ideas.
8Kōī bhī chīj kō ēk kahā jāē tō unkā vr̥itānt bhī ēk hōnā chāhiē nā .
7If only One exists then there should also be only one description of Him.
9Anēk bātē̃ tō nahī̃ hōnī chāhiē̃ .
8There should not be many different descriptions.
10Parantu is ēk chīj mē̃ hī duniyā mūñjhī huī hai .
9But the world is confused in this respect.
11Kahtē bhī haĩ - - god is one .
10They even say: God is one.
12Lēkin kahnē aur samajhnē mē̃ kitnā phark hai !
11However, there is so much difference between saying this and understanding it.
13Samjhō , yah ākāśh tatva hai , unkō har ēk apnī-apnī bhāṣhā mē̃ bhal kuchh bhī kahē lēkin chīj tō ēk hai nā .
12For instance, this sky is an element and each one may call it whatever they want in their own language, but it is just the one thing.
14Is rīti paramātmā bhī ēk hī hai , tō sabkē pās|pass vr̥itānt bhī ēk hōnā chāhiē .
13In the same way, God is one and so everyone should have just one description of Him.
15Bhāṣhāyē̃ bhal anēk hō̃ lēkin vichār tō anēk nahī̃ hōnē chāhiē̃ nā .
14Even though there may be many different languages, there should not be many different ideas.
16Tō ēk hī bāt mē̃ duniyā kitnā mūñjhī huī hai !
15So the world is very confused about this one thing.
17Isliē yah bhī nahī̃ jāntē haĩ ki ham āyē kahā̃ sē haĩ , karnā kyā hai ?
16This is why they do not even know where they have come from and what they have to do.
18Sirph kahtē haĩ achchhē karma karnē chāhiē̃ .
17They simply say that they should perform good actions.
19Kaī aisē bhī manuṣhya kah dētē haĩ ki paramātmā kyā hai , ham kyā haĩ , kahā̃ sē āyē , kahā̃ jānā hai – in bātō̃ sē hamārā kyā matlab ?
18Many people even say: What does it matter to us what God is, what we are, where we have come from and where we have to go to?
20Bākī hā̃ , achchhē kām karnē chāhiē̃ .
19But, yes, we should perform good karma.
21Achchhā , vah achchhā kām kaunsā hai ?
20Achcha, what is that good karma?
22Tō batāyēṅgē - jhūṭh na bōlō , chōrī na karō , kiskō kaṣhṭa na dō .
21So they would say: Not to speak lies, not to steal and not to give sorrow to anyone.
23Parantu ham jāntē haĩ ki ēk dō kō kaṣhṭa tō dētē hī āyē haĩ .
22However, we know that people have been giving sorrow to one another all along.
24Apnē āpkō bhī dhōkhā dēnā - yah bhī ātmā kō kaṣhṭa dē rahē haĩ nā .
23Even to deceive the self is giving sorrow to the soul.
25Yah bhī samajhnē key|kī bāt hai .
24This is also something to be understood.
26Pahlē tō apnē kō jānnā chāhiē ki « maĩ hū̃ kaun ? 27Mērā position kyā hai ? 28Karttavya kyā hai ?
25First of all, you have to know yourself: Who am I, what is my position and what is my duty?
29 » apnē position kō jānnē sē hī karttavya kar sakē̃gē .
26Only by knowing your position would you carry out your duty.
30Jaisē doctor jab jānē – maĩ doctor hū̃ , patient kō saphā dēnī hai , tab hī pūrī saphā dē sakē̃gē .
27LikeWise, a doctor knows that he is a doctor and that he has to give medicine to a patient, for only then can he give the right medicine.
31Agar kahē ki inkī āvaśhyaktā hī kyā hai , tō karttavya kaisē chalē ?
28If he asks: What need is there for this? 29How can he carry out his duties?
32Agar doctor kā karttavya karē parantu yah patā na hō ki ham doctor haĩ - tō kyā karē̃gē ?
30If he carries out the duty of a doctor but he does not know that he is a doctor, what will he do?
33Tō yah bhī aisī bātē̃ haĩ .
31So it is the same here.
34Kahtē tō haĩ - - ham achchhē karma kar rahē haĩ , ham dēśh key|kī sēvā kar rahē haĩ .
32They even say that they are performing good karma, that they are serving their country.
35Lēkin sēvā bhī sachchī kaunsī hōtī hai ?
33However, what is true service?
36Duniyā jō kuchh bhī kar rahī hai uskī result tō sāmnē pratyakṣha hōtī jā rahī hai .
34The result of whatever the world is doing is being revealed to you.
37Paramātmā kyā , ham kyā , hamārā karttavya kyā hai ? 38Vah yathārth rīti jānnā hai .
35You have to know accurately what God is, what we are and what our duty is.
39Vah samajhtē haĩ ham vēdō̃-śhāstrō̃ K|kē ādhār par jāntē haĩ .
36People think that they know everything on the basis of the Vedas and scriptures.
40Lēkin śhāstra key|kī paṛhī huī bāt kō jānnā thōṛēhī kahē̃gē .
37However, to study the things in the scriptures is not said to be knowing anything.
41Jānnē key|kī tō practical bātē̃ haĩ .
38To know is something practical.
42Ham practical mē̃ apnē anubhavō̃ K|kē ādhār par sunātē haĩ .
39We are relating this to you in a practical way on the basis of our own experience.
43Aisē nahī̃ , jō hōnā hōgā sō dēkhā jāyēgā .
40It isn't that we will see about whatever has to happen.
44Nahī̃ .
41No.
45Ham apnē anubhav , vivēk , authority K|kē ādhār par kahtē haĩ .
42We are speaking on the basis of our experience, our conscience and our authority.
46Hamārī kahnī aur karnī duniyā sē nirālī hō gaī hai .
43Our words and our actions have become totally unique compared to those of the world.
47Duniyā jō kahtī hai , kartī hai - usmē̃ kōī aim object nahī̃ hai .
44There is no aim or object in what the world says and does.
48Har ēk K|kē apnē-apnē khyālāt haĩ .
45Everyone has their own ideas.
49Isliē kōī bhī bāt mē̃ sthir nahī̃ haĩ . 50Apnī buddhi tō sthir hai .
46This is why they are not stable in anything, whereas our intellect is stable.
51Buddhi mē̃ ēk hī yathārth bāt hai .
47We have the one accurate aspect in our intellect.
52Hamārī kahnī aur karnī samān hai .
48Our speaking and doing are the same.
49Achcha.
