नमः or Namah is used in mantras as a way of praise and surrenderance to the will of almighty or the universe or the higher power that we believe it. Whatever mantra we chanted from our limited mindset and thinking, we are praising that divine energy and universe of which we are a small part and we are letting go of the ‘I’ or the ego within us that we are doing this chanting or doing this mantra sadhana. It is more of developing a connection of your individual consciousness with the universal consciousness by understanding the concept that whatever is happening is as per the divine plan and forgetting or letting go of your individual ‘I’ or ego. This ‘I ‘ is your swadhisthana Chakra. This ego is a hindrance between developing the relation with the subconscious as your conscious efforts of connecting with the divine energy or God or universe has to pass through subconscious. So Namah is used in mantras as a way of salutation and praise to Gods and surrendering to the will of God that we are doing this mantra out of your divine grace and please accept our prayers.
