Evil spirit, demon.
(Hinduism) The Asurs are said to inhabit the South pole, and are considered to be demons of the first order, and in constant hostility with the gods.
(Bābā) The human being in the iron age (who possesses the evil spirits of vices).
An affix which, added to substantives and adjectives, forms abstract substantives, denoting condition, state, time of life, occupation, &c., and corresponding to the English words which end in '-hood,' '-ship,' '-ness,' &c.
