1छत्र chatr [ad. chattra-1], m. 1. a parasol, an umbrella (esp. as held over kings or their thrones, or over idols). 2. a mushroom. — छत्र-छाँह, f. = next. छत्र-छाया, f. protection, shelter; patronage. छत्रधर, m. = ˚-धारी; an attendant holding a royal parasol. ˚-धार, m. E.H. = next. ˚-धारी, m. holding a parasol: a king. छत्र-पति, m. a king dignified by the emblem of a parasol: a great king.
