प्रश्नचित्त praśhnachitt

Hindi is also shown in Latin characters, using an adapted form of ISO 15919 transliteration.

How to read the transliteration

This site uses transliteration based on ISO 15919, with a few adaptations to make reading easier: h is added after c, ś and ṣ, and i after the vowel r̥. These adaptations bring it closer to the Hunterian system used in India while retaining the distinctive marks of ISO 15919.

A few reading pointers:

  • ā, ī, ū: the line above the letter indicates a long vowel.
  • ṭ, ḍ, ṇ: the dot below distinguishes retroflex consonants from t, d, n.
  • A tilde above a vowel indicates nasalisation.

Origin of the definition

चित्त chitt (sanskrit)

In the passages studied, the heart or inner mind, where joy and contentment are experienced and thoughts about others may be held. The teaching encourages keeping it cheerful and clean, especially by not inwardly retaining others’ mistakes. These attestations do not define चित्त as an autonomous faculty distinct from मन and बुद्धि.

Prashna-chit. Embodiment of questions; one who is full of doubts.

प्रश्न praśhna (sanskrit)

Question, query, interrogation, interpellation, problem.

प्रश्नचित praśncit. Embodiment of questions (if you remember the three dots, that is the soul, the Father and the beneficial Drama, you are always content and are able to apply a full-stop in any situations; when we forget these three dots, we get trapped in discontentment and questions).
