A نصيب naṣīb (v.n. fr. نصب; see naṣb), s.m. Part, portion; chance, lot; luck, good fortune; — destiny (in Urdū this word is generally constructed as a plural): — naṣīb phūṭnā (-ke, mere, &c.), To be unlucky, or unfortunate: — naṣīb jāgnā or jagnā, naṣīb khulnā (-ke, mere, tere), One's star to be in the ascendant; to be fortunate, to be prosperous: — naṣīb karnā, v.t.
