Origin of the definition

Kashi. a city in which there are many temples to Shiva. In earlier days, in order to receive a vision of Shiva, devotees jumped into a well with sharp swords fixed on the walls of the well and Shivalingum on the bottom. Nowadays, this custom is prohibited by the Indian government.
