¹आत्मा, परमात्मा के कर्त्तव्यों को यथार्थ जानना ही अच्छे कर्मों का आधार है

¹The basis of performing good actions is to know accurately the acts of the soul and the Supreme Soul.

³Om shanti.

⁴परमात्मा एक है और वह निराकार है।

⁴God is only one and He is incorporeal.

⁵कई मनुष्य ऐसे मानते हुए भी इस बात में मूंझे हुए हैं। ⁶क्योंकि परमात्मा के बारे में ही अनेकानेक विचार हैं।

⁵Many people believe this and yet are confused about it because they have many different ideas about God.

⁷निराकार को मानने वालों के भी अनेक विचार हैं।

⁶Even those who believe in the incorporeal have many different ideas.

⁸कोई भी चीज को एक कहा जाए तो उनका वृतान्त भी एक होना चाहिए ना।

⁷If only One exists then there should also be only one description of Him.

⁹अनेक बातें तो नहीं होनी चाहिएं।

⁸There should not be many different descriptions.

¹⁰परन्तु इस एक चीज में ही दुनिया मूंझी हुई है।

⁹But the world is confused in this respect.

¹¹कहते भी हैं -- गॉड इज वन ।

¹⁰They even say: God is one.

¹²लेकिन कहने और समझने में कितना फर्क है !

¹¹However, there is so much difference between saying this and understanding it.

¹³समझो, यह आकाश तत्व है, उनको हर एक अपनी-अपनी भाषा में भल कुछ भी कहे लेकिन चीज तो एक है ना।

¹²For instance, this sky is an element and each one may call it whatever they want in their own language, but it is just the one thing.

¹⁴इस रीति परमात्मा भी एक ही है, तो सबके पास वृतान्त भी एक होना चाहिए।

¹³In the same way, God is one and so everyone should have just one description of Him.

¹⁵भाषायें भल अनेक हों लेकिन विचार तो अनेक नहीं होने चाहिएं ना ।

¹⁴Even though there may be many different languages, there should not be many different ideas.

¹⁶तो एक ही बात में दुनिया कितना मूंझी हुई है !

¹⁵So the world is very confused about this one thing.

¹⁷इसलिए यह भी नहीं जानते हैं कि हम आये कहाँ से हैं, करना क्या है ?

¹⁶This is why they do not even know where they have come from and what they have to do.

¹⁸सिर्फ कहते हैं अच्छे कर्म करने चाहिएं ।

¹⁷They simply say that they should perform good actions.

¹⁹कई ऐसे भी मनुष्य कह देते हैं कि परमात्मा क्या है, हम क्या हैं, कहाँ से आये, कहाँ जाना है – इन बातों से हमारा क्या मतलब ?

¹⁸Many people even say: What does it matter to us what God is, what we are, where we have come from and where we have to go to?

²⁰बाकी हाँ, अच्छे काम करने चाहिएं ।

¹⁹But, yes, we should perform good karma.

²¹अच्छा, वह अच्छा काम कौनसा है ?

²⁰Achcha, what is that good karma?

²²तो बतायेंगे - झूठ न बोलो, चोरी न करो, किसको कष्ट न दो।

²¹So they would say: Not to speak lies, not to steal and not to give sorrow to anyone.

²³परन्तु हम जानते हैं कि एक दो को कष्ट तो देते ही आये हैं।

²²However, we know that people have been giving sorrow to one another all along.

²⁴अपने आपको भी धोखा देना - यह भी आत्मा को कष्ट दे रहे हैं ना ।

²³Even to deceive the self is giving sorrow to the soul.

²⁵यह भी समझने की बात है।

²⁴This is also something to be understood.

²⁶पहले तो अपने को जानना चाहिए कि “मैं हूँ कौन ? ²⁷मेरा पोजीशन क्या है ? ²⁸कर्त्तव्य क्या है ?

²⁵First of all, you have to know yourself: Who am I, what is my position and what is my duty?

²⁹” अपने पोजीशन को जानने से ही कर्त्तव्य कर सकेंगे।

²⁶Only by knowing your position would you carry out your duty.

³⁰जैसे डॉक्टर जब जाने – मैं डॉक्टर हूँ, पेशेन्ट को सफा देनी है, तब ही पूरी सफा दे सकेंगे।

²⁷LikeWise, a doctor knows that he is a doctor and that he has to give medicine to a patient, for only then can he give the right medicine.

³¹अगर कहे कि इनकी आवश्यकता ही क्या है, तो कर्त्तव्य कैसे चले ?

²⁸If he asks: What need is there for this? ²⁹How can he carry out his duties?

³²अगर डॉक्टर का कर्त्तव्य करे परन्तु यह पता न हो कि हम डॉक्टर हैं- तो क्या करेंगे ?

³⁰If he carries out the duty of a doctor but he does not know that he is a doctor, what will he do?

³³तो यह भी ऐसी बातें हैं।

³¹So it is the same here.

³⁴कहते तो हैं -- हम अच्छे कर्म कर रहे हैं, हम देश की सेवा कर रहे हैं।

³²They even say that they are performing good karma, that they are serving their country.

³⁵लेकिन सेवा भी सच्ची कौनसी होती है ?

³³However, what is true service?

³⁶दुनिया जो कुछ भी कर रही है उसकी रिजल्ट तो सामने प्रत्यक्ष होती जा रही है।

³⁴The result of whatever the world is doing is being revealed to you.

³⁷परमात्मा क्या, हम क्या, हमारा कर्त्तव्य क्या है ? ³⁸वह यथार्थ रीति जानना है।

³⁵You have to know accurately what God is, what we are and what our duty is.

³⁹वह समझते हैं हम वेदों-शास्त्रों के आधार पर जानते हैं।

³⁶People think that they know everything on the basis of the Vedas and scriptures.

⁴⁰लेकिन शास्त्र की पढ़ी हुई बात को जानना थोड़ेही कहेंगे।

³⁷However, to study the things in the scriptures is not said to be knowing anything.

⁴¹जानने की तो प्रैक्टिकल बातें हैं।

³⁸To know is something practical.

⁴²हम प्रैक्टिकल में अपने अनुभवों के आधार पर सुनाते हैं।

³⁹We are relating this to you in a practical way on the basis of our own experience.

⁴³ऐसे नहीं, जो होना होगा सो देखा जायेगा।

⁴⁰It isn't that we will see about whatever has to happen.

⁴⁴नहीं।

⁴¹No.

⁴⁵हम अपने अनुभव, विवेक, अथॉरिटी के आधार पर कहते हैं।

⁴²We are speaking on the basis of our experience, our conscience and our authority.

⁴⁶हमारी कहनी और करनी दुनिया से निराली हो गई है।

⁴³Our words and our actions have become totally unique compared to those of the world.

⁴⁷दुनिया जो कहती है, करती है - उसमें कोई एम आबजेक्ट नहीं है।

⁴⁴There is no aim or object in what the world says and does.

⁴⁸हर एक के अपने-अपने ख्यालात हैं।

⁴⁵Everyone has their own ideas.

⁴⁹इसलिए कोई भी बात में स्थिर नहीं हैं। ⁵⁰अपनी बुद्धि तो स्थिर है।

⁴⁶This is why they are not stable in anything, whereas our intellect is stable.

⁵¹बुद्धि में एक ही यथार्थ बात है।

⁴⁷We have the one accurate aspect in our intellect.

⁵²हमारी कहनी और करनी समान है।

⁴⁸Our speaking and doing are the same.

⁴⁹Achcha.
