11Who said this?

14आत्मा ने . ātmā nē . ātmā[n.f.;sg.] nē[postp.] . soul ∅ . 15अविनाशी आत्मा ने कहा शरीर द्वारा . avināśhī ātmā nē kahā śharīr dvārā . avināśhī[adj.] ātmā[n.f.;sg.] nē[postp.] kahnā[past-part.m.sg.d.] śharīr[n.m.;sg.,d.] dvārā . imperishable soul ∅ say[past-part.m.sg.d.] body through .

12It was the soul who said this.

16शरीर और आत्मा में कितना फर्क है . śharīr aur ātmā mē̃ kitnā phark hai . śharīr[n.m.;sg.,d.] aur ātmā[n.f.;sg.] mē̃[postp.] kitnā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] fark[n.m.;sg.,d.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] . body and soul in so difference be[pres.sg.23] .

13The imperishable soul said this through the body.

17शरीर 5 तत्व का इतना बड़ा पुतला बन जाता है . śharīr 5 tatva kā itnā baṛā putlā ban jātā hai . śharīr[n.m.;sg.,d.] 5 tatva[n.m.;sg.,d.] kā[postp.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] itnā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] baṛā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] putlā[n.m.ā=>ā;sg.d.] bannā[pres.sg.m.23.root+jānā] . body 5 element of such very puppet become[pres.sg.m.23.root+jānā] .

14There is a vast difference between the soul and the body.

18भल छोटा भी है तो भी आत्मा से तो जरूर बड़ा है . bhal chhōṭā bhī hai tō bhī ātmā sē tō jarūr baṛā hai . bhal chhōṭā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] bhī[p.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] tō bhī[x] ātmā[n.f.;sg.] sē[postp.] tō zarūr baṛā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] . although small too be[pres.sg.23] ∅ soul from then definitely very be[pres.sg.23] .

15The body is a large puppet made of the five elements.

19पहले तो एकदम छोटा पिण्ड होता है , जब थोड़ा बड़ा होता है तब आत्मा प्रवेश करती है . pahlē tō ēkdam chhōṭā piṇḍ hōtā hai , jab thōṛā baṛā hōtā hai tab ātmā pravēśh kartī hai . pahlē[adv.]|pahlā[adj.ā=>ē;m.o.,m.pl.] tō ēkdam chhōṭā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] piṇḍ[n.m.;sg.,d.] hōnā[pres.sg.m.23] , jab thōṛā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] baṛā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] hōnā[pres.sg.m.23] tab ātmā[n.f.;sg.] pravēśh karnā[pres.sg.f.23] . (firstly|x) then x small foetus be[pres.sg.m.23] , when short very be[pres.sg.m.23] for only then soul enter .

16Even if a body is small, it is still much larger than a soul. 17To begin with, it is a very small foetus.

20बड़ा होते-होते फिर इतना बड़ा हो जाता है . baṛā hōtē-hōtē phir itnā baṛā hō jātā hai . baṛā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] hōnā[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] phirnā[root]|phir[adv.] itnā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] baṛā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] hōnā[pres.sg.m.23.root+jānā] . very be[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] (turn[root]|then) such very be[pres.sg.m.23.root+jānā] .

18Then, when it grows a little bigger, a soul enters it.

21आत्मा तो चैतन्य है ना . ātmā tō chaitanya hai nā . ātmā[n.f.;sg.] tō chaitanya[n.m.;sg.,d.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] nā . soul then living be[pres.sg.23] ∅ .

19It continues to grow and becomes so big.

22जब तक आत्मा प्रवेश न करे तब तक पुतला कोई काम का नहीं रहता है . jab tak ātmā pravēśh na karē tab tak putlā kōī kām kā nahī̃ rahtā hai . jab tak[x] ātmā[n.f.;sg.] pravēśh[n.m.;sg.,d.] na[neg] karnā[opt.sg.23] tab tak[x] putlā[n.m.ā=>ā;sg.d.] kōī[pn.;d.] kām[n.m.;sg.,d.]|kām[n.m.;sg.,d.] kā[postp.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] nahī̃[neg] rahnā[pres.sg.m.23] . as long as soul entry not do[opt.sg.23] x puppet some (lust|task) of not remain[pres.sg.m.23] .

20A soul is a living being. 21The puppet is of no use until a soul enters it.

23कितना फर्क है . kitnā phark hai . kitnā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] fark[n.m.;sg.,d.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] . so difference be[pres.sg.23] .

22There is a vast difference.

23It is the soul that speaks and moves.

25वह इतनी छोटी-सी बिन्दी ही है . vah itnī chhōṭī-sī bindī hī hai . vah[pn.sg.d.] itnā[adj.ā=>ī;f.] chhōṭā[adj.ā=>ī;f.] bindī[n.f.ī=>ī;sg.] hī[p.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] . that such small point only be[pres.sg.23] .

24It is a very tiny point.

26वह कभी छोटी-बड़ी नहीं होती . vah kabhī chhōṭī-baṛī nahī̃ hōtī . vah[pn.sg.d.] kabhī[adv.] chhōṭē-baṛē[adj.ā=>ī;f.] nahī̃[neg] hōnā[pres-part.f.] . that ever the young and the old not be[pres-part.f.] .

25It never becomes smaller or larger.

27विनाश को नहीं पाती . vināśh kō nahī̃ pātī . vināśh[n.m.;sg.,d.] kō[postp.] nahī̃[neg] pānā[pres-part.f.] . destruction to not x[pres-part.f.] .

56बाकी तो सब है भक्ति . bākī tō sab hai bhakti . bākī|bākī tō sab[adj.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] bhakti[n.f.;sg.] . (but|others) then all be[pres.sg.23] devotion .

53Everything else is devotion.

57बाप ही आकर तुमको ज्ञानी तू आत्मा बनाते हैं . bāp hī ākar tumkō gyānī tū ātmā banātē haĩ . bāp[n.m.;sg.,d.] hī[p.] ānā[abs.] tum[pn.pl.kō] gyānī[adj.] tū ātmā[n.f.;sg.] banānā[pres.pl.m.12hon3] . father only come[abs.] you[.kō] gyani you soul create[pres.pl.m.12hon3] .

54The Father comes and makes you into knowledgeable souls.

58आगे तुम भक्ति तू आत्मा थे . āgē tum bhakti tū ātmā thē . āgē tum[pn.pl.] bhakti[n.f.;sg.] tū ātmā[n.f.;sg.] hōnā[past.pl] . previously you devotion you soul be[past.pl] . 59तू आत्मा भक्ति करते थे . tū ātmā bhakti kartē thē . tū ātmā[n.f.;sg.] bhakti[n.f.;sg.] karnā[hab-past.pl.m.] . you soul devotion do[hab-past.pl.m.] .

55Previously, you were devotee souls; you souls used to perform devotion.

60अभी तुम आत्मा ज्ञान सुनते हो . abhī tum ātmā gyān suntē hō . ab[adv.hī] tum[pn.pl.] ātmā[n.f.;sg.] gyān[n.m.;sg.,d.] sunnā[pres.pl.m.2] . now you soul knowledge listen[pres.pl.m.2] .

56You souls are now listening to knowledge.

61भक्ति को कहा जाता है अन्धियारा . bhakti kō kahā jātā hai andhiyārā . bhakti[n.f.;sg.] kō[postp.] kahnā[pres.sg.m.23.past-part+jānā]|kahnā[pres.sg.m.23.passive] andhiyārā, andhērā[n.m.ā=>ā;sg.d.] . devotion to (say[pres.sg.m.23.past-part+jānā]|say[pres.sg.m.23.passive]) darkness .

57Devotion is called darkness.

62ऐसे नहीं कहेंगे भक्ति से भगवान मिलता है . aisē nahī̃ kahē̃gē bhakti sē bhagvān miltā hai . aisē nahī̃[x] kahnā[fut.m.pl.12hon3] bhakti[n.f.;sg.] sē[postp.] bhagvān[n.m.;sg.,d.] milnā[pres.sg.m.23] . it isn't that say[fut.m.pl.12hon3] devotion from God receive[pres.sg.m.23] .

58You can't say that you meet God by performing devotion.

63बाप ने समझाया है भक्ति का भी पार्ट है , ज्ञान का भी पार्ट है . bāp nē samjhāyā hai bhakti kā bhī part hai , gyān kā bhī part hai . bāp[n.m.;sg.,d.] nē[postp.] samjhānā[pres-perf.sg.m.23] bhakti[n.f.;sg.] kā[postp.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] bhī[p.] part[n.m.;sg.,d.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] , gyān[n.m.;sg.,d.] kā[postp.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] bhī[p.] part[n.m.;sg.,d.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] . father ∅ explain[pres-perf.sg.m.23] devotion of too part be[pres.sg.23] , knowledge of too part be[pres.sg.23] .

59The Father has explained that there is the part of devotion and there is also the part of knowledge.

64तुम जानते हो हम भक्ति करते थे तो कोई सुख नहीं था . tum jāntē hō ham bhakti kartē thē tō kōī sukh nahī̃ thā . tum jāntē hō[x] ham[pn.pl.] bhakti[n.f.;sg.] karnā[hab-past.pl.m.] tō kōī[pn.;d.] sukh[n.m.;sg.,d.] nahī̃[neg] hōnā[past.m.sg] . you know we devotion do[hab-past.pl.m.] then some happiness not be[past.m.sg] .

60You understand that at the time you used to perform devotion there was no happiness.

65भक्ति करते धक्का खाते रहते थे . bhakti kartē dhakkā khātē rahtē thē . bhakti[n.f.;sg.] karnā[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] dhakkā[n.m.ā=>ā;sg.d.] khānā[hab-past.pl.m..pres-part+rahnā] . devotion do[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] x eat[hab-past.pl.m..pres-part+rahnā] . 66बाप को ढूँढते थे . bāp kō ḍhūṇḍhtē thē . bāp[n.m.;sg.,d.] kō[postp.] ḍhūṇḍhnā[hab-past.pl.m.] . father to discover[hab-past.pl.m.] .

61Whilst performing devotion you would stumble around searching for God.

67अभी समझते हो यज्ञ , तप , दान , पुण्य आदि जो कुछ करते थे , ढूँढ़ते-ढूँढ़ते धक्का खाते-खाते तंग हो जाते हैं . abhī samajhtē hō yagya , tap , dān , puṇya ādi jō kuchh kartē thē , ḍhū̃ṛhtē-ḍhū̃ṛhtē dhakkā khātē-khātē taṅg hō jātē haĩ . ab[adv.hī] samajhnā[pres.pl.m.2] yagya[n.m.;sg.,d.] , tapnā[root]|tap[n.m.;sg.,d.] , dān[n.m.;sg.,d.] , puṇya[n.m.;sg.,d.] ādi[adj.] jō kuchh[x] karnā[hab-past.pl.m.] , ḍhūṇḍhnā[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] dhakkā[n.m.ā=>ā;sg.d.] khānā[pres-part.m.pl.,o.]|khātā[n.m.ā=>ē;sg.o.,m.pl.d.] taṅg hōnā[pres.pl.m.12hon3.root+jānā] . now understand[pres.pl.m.2] sacrificial fire , (become heated[root]|tapasya) , donation , charity etc. whatever do[hab-past.pl.m.] , discover[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] x (eat[pres-part.m.pl.,o.]|account) be distressed . 68तमोप्रधान बन जाते हैं क्योंकि गिरना होता है ना . tamōpradhān ban jātē haĩ kyōṅki girnā hōtā hai nā . tamōpradhān[adj.] bannā[pres.pl.m.12hon3.root+jānā] kyōṅki girnā[pres.sg.m.23.oblig1] nā . tamopradhan become[pres.pl.m.12hon3.root+jānā] because fall down[pres.sg.m.23.oblig1] ∅ .

62You now understand that creating sacrificial fires, doing penance, giving donations and performing charitable acts whilst trying to find God only led to your stumbling around and becoming distressed. 63You became tamopradhan as you continued to fall.

69झूठे काम करना छी-छी होना होता है . jhūṭhē kām karnā chhī-chhī hōnā hōtā hai . jhūṭhā[adj.ā=>ē;m.o.,m.pl.] kām[n.m.;sg.,d.]|kām[n.m.;sg.,d.] karnā[inf.m.sg.d.] chhī-chhī[adj.] hōnā[pres.sg.m.23.oblig1] . false (lust|task) do[inf.m.sg.d.] dirty be[pres.sg.m.23.oblig1] .

68That doesn’t mean that you cannot meet God unless you have become pure.

God to then say[pres.pl.m.12hon3] come[abs.] x .

69People ask God to come and purify them.
