3Question: Is it an income or a loss to go to the land of liberation?

Answer

37The trunk of the deities doesn't exist now. 38All the branches and twigs are still standing there, but the foundation of the original, eternal deity religion doesn't exist.

31यह भी गायन है - एक आदि सनातन देवी-देवता धर्म की स्थापना करते हैं , बाकी और सब धर्म विनाश हो जाते हैं . yah bhī gāyan hai - ēk ādi sanātan dēvī-dēvtā dharm key|kī sthāpanā kartē haĩ , bākī aur sab dharm vināśh hō jātē haĩ . yah[pn.sg.d.] bhī[p.] gāyan[n.m.;sg.,d.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] - ēk[adj.] ādi sanātan dēvī-dēvtā dharm[x] key|karnā[past-part.f.]|kā[postp.ā=>ī;f.] sthāpanā, sthāpan[n.f.;sg.] karnā[pres.pl.m.12hon3] , bākī|bākī aur sab[adj.] dharm[n.m.;sg.,d.] vināśh hōnā[pres.pl.m.12hon3.root+jānā] . this too x be[pres.sg.23] - one original eternal deity religion (key|do[past-part.f.]|of) establishment do[pres.pl.m.12hon3] , (others|but) and all religion be destroyed .

39It is remembered that the original, eternal deity religion is established and that all the other religions are destroyed.

32अभी तुम जानते हो कितना छोटा-सा दैवी झाड़ होगा . abhī tum jāntē hō kitnā chhōṭā-sā daivī jhāṛ hōgā . ab[adv.hī] tum jāntē hō[x] kitnā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] chhōṭā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] daivī[adj.] jhāṛ[n.m.;sg.,d.] hōnā[fut.m.sg.23] . now you know so small divine tree be[fut.m.sg.23] .

40You now know that the deity tree will be very small.

, bhakti[n.f.;sg.] , vairāgya[n.m.;sg.,d.] . x say[pres.pl.m.12hon3] knowledge , devotion , disinterest . 126परन्तु डीटेल कुछ नहीं जानते . parantu detail kuchh nahī̃ jāntē . parantu[conj.] detail kuchh nahī̃[neg] jānnā[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] . however detail anything not know[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] .

133It is always said: “Knowledge, devotion and disinterest”; they don't know any of the detail at all.

, bhakti[n.f.;sg.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] rāt[n.f.;sg.] . father sit[root] explain[pres.pl.m.12hon3] - knowledge be[pres.sg.23] day , devotion be[pres.sg.23] night .

134The Father sits here and explains that this knowledge is the day and that devotion is the night.

128वैराग्य है रात का . vairāgya hai rāt kā . vairāgya[n.m.;sg.,d.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] rāt[n.f.;sg.] kā[postp.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] . disinterest be[pres.sg.23] night of . 129फिर दिन होता है . phir din hōtā hai . phir[adv.]|phirnā[root] din[n.m.;sg.,d.] hōnā[pres.sg.m.23] . 135Disinterest is in the night and then it becomes the day.

130भक्ति में है दुःख इसलिए उसका वैराग्य . bhakti mē̃ hai duḥkh isliē uskā vairāgya . bhakti[n.f.;sg.] mē̃[postp.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] duḥkhnā[root]|duḥkh[n.m.;sg.,d.] isliē vah[pn.sg.kā] vairāgya[n.m.;sg.,d.] . devotion in be[pres.sg.23] (hurt[root]|sorrow) therefore that[.kā] disinterest .

136There is sorrow in devotion and that is why there is disinterest in that.

131सुख का तो वैराग्य नहीं कहेंगे . sukh kā tō vairāgya nahī̃ kahē̃gē . sukh[n.m.;sg.,d.] kā[postp.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] tō vairāgya[n.m.;sg.,d.] nahī̃[neg] kahnā[fut.m.pl.12hon3] . happiness of then disinterest not say[fut.m.pl.12hon3] .

137You cannot say that there is disinterest in happiness.

139They believe that there is happiness in purity. 140That is why they renounce their wives and leave them.

134आजकल तो धनवान भी बन गये हैं क्योंकि सम्पत्ति बिगर तो सुख मिल न सके . ājkal tō dhanvān bhī ban gayē haĩ kyōṅki sampatti bigar tō sukh mil na sakē . ājkal tō dhanvān[adj.] bhī[p.] bannā[pres-perf.pl.m.12hon3.root+jānā] kyōṅki sampatti[n.f.ī=>ī;sg.] bigar tō sukh[n.m.;sg.,d.] milnā[root] na[neg] saknā[past-part.m.pl.,o.]|saknā[opt.sg.23] . nowadays then x too become[pres-perf.pl.m.12hon3.root+jānā] because wealth without then happiness receive[root] not (can[past-part.m.pl.,o.]|can[opt.sg.23]) .

141Nowadays, they have even become wealthy, because one cannot receive happiness without wealth.

142Maya attacks them and brings them back from the jungles into the cities.

136विवेकानन्द और रामकृष्ण भी दो बड़े संन्यासी होकर गये हैं . vivēkānand aur rāmakr̥iṣhṇa bhī dō baṛē sannyāsī hōkar gayē haĩ . vivēkānand[n.m.;sg.,d.] aur rāmkr̥iṣhṇa[n.m.;sg.,d.] bhī[p.] dēnā[opt.pl.2,imp.pl.2]|dō[adj.] baṛā[adj.ā=>ē;m.o.,m.pl.] sannyāsī[n.m.;sg.,d.] hōnā[abs.] jānā[pres-perf.pl.m.12hon3] . 143Vivekananda and Ramakrishna were two great sannyasis who existed in the past.

137संन्यास की ताकत रामकृष्ण में थी . sannyās key|kī tākat rāmakr̥iṣhṇa mē̃ thī . sannyās[x] key|karnā[past-part.f.]|kā[postp.ā=>ī;f.] tākat[n.f.;sg.] rāmkr̥iṣhṇa[n.m.;sg.,d.] mē̃[postp.] hōnā[past.f] . renunciation (key|do[past-part.f.]|of) power Ramakrishna in be[past.f] . 138बाकी भक्ति का समझाना करना , वह विवेकानन्द का था . bākī bhakti kā samjhānā karnā , vah vivēkānand kā thā . bākī|bākī bhakti[n.f.;sg.] kā[postp.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] samjhānā[inf.m.sg.d.] karnā[inf.m.sg.d.] , vah[pn.sg.d.] vivēkānand[n.m.;sg.,d.] kā[postp.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] hōnā[past.m.sg] . 144Ramakrishna had the power of renunciation, but it was Vivekananda who explained and practised everything about devotion.

139दोनों की पुस्तकें हैं . dōnō̃ key|kī pustakē̃ haĩ . dōnō̃ key|karnā[past-part.f.]|kā[postp.ā=>ī;f.] pustak[n.f.+ē̃;pl.d.] hōnā[pres.pl.12hon3] . x (key|do[past-part.f.]|of) book be[pres.pl.12hon3] .

145They both have religious books.

140पुस्तक जब लिखते हैं तो एकाग्रचित हो बैठ लिखते हैं . pustak jab likhtē haĩ tō ēkāgrachit hō baiṭh likhtē haĩ . pustak[n.f.;sg.] jab likhnā[pres.pl.m.12hon3] tō ēkāgrachitt[adj.] hōnā[root.root+baiṭhnā] likhnā[pres.pl.m.12hon3] . book when write[pres.pl.m.12hon3] then concentrated be[root.root+baiṭhnā] write[pres.pl.m.12hon3] .

146When someone writes a book, he sits in total concentration.

141रामकृष्ण जब अपनी बायोग्राफी बैठ लिखते थे तो शिष्य को भी कहा तुम जाकर दूर बैठो . rāmakr̥iṣhṇa jab apnī biography baiṭh likhtē thē tō śhiṣhya kō bhī kahā tum jākar dūr baiṭhō . rāmkr̥iṣhṇa[n.m.;sg.,d.] jab apnā[pn.ā=>ī;f.] biography baiṭhnā[root] likhnā[hab-past.pl.m.] tō śhiṣhya[n.m.;sg.,d.] kō[postp.] bhī[p.] kahnā[past-part.m.sg.d.] tum[pn.pl.] jānā[abs.] dūr[adj.] baiṭhnā[opt.pl.2,imp.pl.2] . Ramakrishna when one’s own biography sit[root] write[hab-past.pl.m.] then disciple to too say[past-part.m.sg.d.] you go[abs.] distant sit[opt.pl.2,imp.pl.2] .

147When Ramakrishna was writing his biography, he told his disciple to go and sit far away.

142था बहुत तीखा कड़ा संन्यासी , नाम भी बहुत है . thā bahut tīkhā kaṛā sannyāsī , nām bhī bahut hai . hōnā[past.m.sg] bahut tīkhā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] kaṛā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] sannyāsī[n.m.;sg.,d.] , nām[n.m.;sg.,d.] bhī[p.] bahut hōnā[pres.sg.23] . be[past.m.sg] very x severe sannyasi , name too very be[pres.sg.23] .

148He was a very strict sannyasi who was very well known.

143बाप ऐसे नहीं कहते कि स्त्री को माँ कहो . bāp aisē nahī̃ kahtē ki strī kō mā̃ kahō . bāp[n.m.;sg.,d.] aisē nahī̃[x] kahnā[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] ki[conj.] strī[n.f.ī=>ī;sg.] kō[postp.] mā̃[n.f.;sg.] kahnā[opt.pl.2,imp.pl.2] . father it isn't that say[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] that wife to mother say[opt.pl.2,imp.pl.2] .

149The Father does not say that you have to call your wife your mother.

144बाप तो कहते हैं उनको भी आत्मा समझो . bāp tō kahtē haĩ unkō bhī ātmā samjhō . bāp[n.m.;sg.,d.] tō kahnā[pres.pl.m.12hon3] vah[pn.pl.kō] bhī[p.] ātmā[n.f.;sg.] samajhnā[opt.pl.2,imp.pl.2] . father then say[pres.pl.m.12hon3] that[.kō] too soul understand[opt.pl.2,imp.pl.2] .

150The Father says: Consider her too to be a soul.

145आत्मायें तो सब भाई हैं . ātmāyē̃ tō sab bhāī haĩ . ātmā[n.f.+ē̃;pl.d.] tō sab[adj.] bhānā[pres-perf.pl.f.12hon3] . soul then all be liked[pres-perf.pl.f.12hon3] .

151All souls are brothers.

146संन्यासियों की बात अलग है , उसने स्त्री को माँ समझा . sannyāsiyō̃ key|kī bāt alag hai , usnē strī kō mā̃ samjhā . sannyāsī[n.m.+ō̃;pl.o.] key|karnā[past-part.f.]|kā[postp.ā=>ī;f.] bāt[n.f.;sg.] alag[adj.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] , vah[pn.sg.nē] strī[n.f.ī=>ī;sg.] kō[postp.] mā̃[n.f.;sg.] samjhānā[root]|samajhnā[past-part.m.sg.d.] . sannyasi (key|do[past-part.f.]|of) matter separate be[pres.sg.23] , that[.nē] wife to mother (explain[root]|understand[past-part.m.sg.d.]) .

152The matter of sannyasis is separate. 153He (Ramakrishna) considered his wife to be his mother.

147माँ की बैठ बड़ाई की है . mā̃ key|kī baiṭh baṛāī kī hai . mā̃[n.f.;sg.] key|karnā[past-part.f.]|kā[postp.ā=>ī;f.] baiṭhnā[root] baṛāī[n.f.ī=>ī;sg.] karnā[pres-perf.sg.f.23] . mother (key|do[past-part.f.]|of) sit[root] praise do[pres-perf.sg.f.23] .

154He praised his mother.

148यह ज्ञान का रास्ता है , वैराग्य की बात अलग है . yah gyān kā rāstā hai , vairāgya key|kī bāt alag hai . yah[pn.sg.d.] gyān[n.m.;sg.,d.] kā[postp.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] rāstā[n.m.ā=>ā;sg.d.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] , vairāgya[n.m.;sg.,d.] key|karnā[past-part.f.]|kā[postp.ā=>ī;f.] bāt[n.f.;sg.] alag[adj.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] . this knowledge of path be[pres.sg.23] , disinterest (key|do[past-part.f.]|of) matter separate be[pres.sg.23] .

155This path is of this knowledge. 156Disinterest is something else.

149वैराग्य में आकर स्त्री को माँ समझा . vairāgya mē̃ ākar strī kō mā̃ samjhā . vairāgya[n.m.;sg.,d.] mē̃[postp.] ānā[abs.] strī[n.f.ī=>ī;sg.] kō[postp.] mā̃[n.f.;sg.] samjhānā[root]|samajhnā[past-part.m.sg.d.] . disinterest in come[abs.] wife to mother (explain[root]|understand[past-part.m.sg.d.]) .

157Because of disinterest, he considered his wife to be his mother.

150माता अक्षर में क्रिमिनल आई नहीं होगी . mātā akṣhar mē̃ criminal eye nahī̃ hōgī . mātā[n.f.;sg.] akṣhar[n.m.;sg.,d.] mē̃[postp.] criminal eye[x] nahī̃[neg] hōnā[fut.f.sg.23] . mother word in criminal eye not be[fut.f.sg.23] .

158There cannot be a criminal eye when the word "mother" is used.

151बहन में भी क्रिमिनल दृष्टि जा सकती है , माता में कभी खराब ख्याल नहीं जायेंगे . bahan mē̃ bhī criminal dr̥iṣhṭi jā saktī hai , mātā mē̃ kabhī kharāb khyāl nahī̃ jāyēṅgē . bahan ou bahin[n.f.;sg.] mē̃[postp.] bhī[p.] criminal[adj.] dr̥iṣhṭi[n.f.;sg.] jānā[pres.sg.f.23.root+saknā] , mātā[n.f.;sg.] mē̃[postp.] kabhī[adv.] kharāb[adj.] khyāl[n.m.;sg.,d.] nahī̃[neg] jānā[fut.m.pl.12hon3] . x in too criminal drishti go[pres.sg.f.23.root+saknā] , mother in ever bad thought not go[fut.m.pl.12hon3] .

159With the relationship of sister, there can be criminal vision. 160There would never be any bad thoughts about a mother.

152बाप की बच्ची में भी क्रिमिनल दृष्टि जा सकती है , माँ में कभी नहीं जायेगी . bāp key|kī bachchī mē̃ bhī criminal dr̥iṣhṭi jā saktī hai , mā̃ mē̃ kabhī nahī̃ jāyēgī . bāp[n.m.;sg.,d.] key|karnā[past-part.f.]|kā[postp.ā=>ī;f.] bachchī[n.f.ī=>ī;sg.] mē̃[postp.] bhī[p.] criminal[adj.] dr̥iṣhṭi[n.f.;sg.] jānā[pres.sg.f.23.root+saknā] , mā̃[n.f.;sg.] mē̃[postp.] kabhī[adv.] nahī̃[neg] jānā[fut.f.sg.23] . father (key|do[past-part.f.]|of) girl in too criminal drishti go[pres.sg.f.23.root+saknā] , mother in ever not go[fut.f.sg.23] .

161A father can also have criminal vision for his daughter, but there would never be any criminal vision about a mother.

153संन्यासी स्त्री को माँ समझने लगा . sannyāsī strī kō mā̃ samajhnē lagā . sannyāsī[n.m.;sg.,d.] strī[n.f.ī=>ī;sg.] kō[postp.] mā̃[n.f.;sg.] samajhnā[inf.m.pl.,o.] lagānā[root]|lagnā[past-part.m.sg.d.]|lagā[adj.ā=>ā;m.sg.d.] . sannyasi wife to mother understand[inf.m.pl.,o.] (attach[root]|x[past-part.m.sg.d.]|x) .

162Therefore, the sannyasi began to consider his wife to be his mother.

154उनके लिए ऐसे नहीं कहते कि दुनिया कैसे चलेगी , पैदाइस कैसे होगी  ? unkē liē aisē nahī̃ kahtē ki duniyā kaisē chalēgī , paidāis kaisē hōgī  ? vah[pn.pl.kē] liē|lēnā[past-part.m.pl.,o.] aisē nahī̃[x] kahnā[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] ki[conj.] duniyā[n.f.;sg.] kaisā[adj.ā=>ē;m.o.,m.pl.] chalnā[fut.f.sg.23] , paidāis[n.f.;sg.] kaisā[adj.ā=>ē;m.o.,m.pl.] hōnā[fut.f.sg.23]  ? that[.kē] (for|take[past-part.m.pl.,o.]) it isn't that say[pres-part.m.pl.,o.] that world how continue[fut.f.sg.23] , x how be[fut.f.sg.23]  ?

163In connection with him they don’t ask: “How would the world continue? 164How would creation take place?”

ānā[past-part.m.sg.d.] , mā̃[n.f.;sg.] kahnā[past-part.m.sg.d..root+dēnā] . that then one to disinterest come[past-part.m.sg.d.] , mother say[past-part.m.sg.d..root+dēnā] .

165That was one person who had disinterest and he considered his wife to be his mother.

156उनकी महिमा देखो कितनी है . unkī mahimā dēkhō kitnī hai . vah[pn.pl.kī] mahimā[n.f.;sg.] dēkhnā[opt.pl.2,imp.pl.2] kitnā[adj.ā=>ī;f.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] . that[.kī] praise see[opt.pl.2,imp.pl.2] so be[pres.sg.23] .

166Look how much he is praised!

157यहाँ बहन-भाई कहने से भी बहुतों की दृष्टि जाती है इसलिए बाबा कहते हैं - भाई-भाई समझो . yahā̃ bahan-bhāī kahnē sē bhī bahutō̃ key|kī dr̥iṣhṭi jātī hai isliē bābā kahtē haĩ - bhāī-bhāī samjhō . yahā̃ bhāī-bahin[n.m.;sg.,d.] kahnā[inf.m.pl.,o.] sē[postp.] bhī[p.] bahut[n.m.+ō̃;pl.o.] key|karnā[past-part.f.]|kā[postp.ā=>ī;f.] dr̥iṣhṭi[n.f.;sg.] jānā[pres.sg.f.23] isliē bābā kahnā[pres.pl.m.12hon3] - bhānā[past-part.f.]|bhāī[n.m.;sg.,d.] samajhnā[opt.pl.2,imp.pl.2] . here brother and sister say[inf.m.pl.,o.] from too very (key|do[past-part.f.]|of) drishti go[pres.sg.f.23] therefore Baba say[pres.pl.m.12hon3] - (be liked[past-part.f.]|brother) understand[opt.pl.2,imp.pl.2] .

167Here, the vision of many is pulled even with the awareness of brother and sister. 168This is why Baba says: Consider yourselves to be brothers.

158यह है ज्ञान की बात . yah hai gyān key|kī bāt . yah[pn.sg.d.] hōnā[pres.sg.23] gyān[n.m.;sg.,d.] key|karnā[past-part.f.]|kā[postp.ā=>ī;f.] bāt[n.f.;sg.] . this be[pres.sg.23] knowledge (key|do[past-part.f.]|of) matter .
